Kamae Terms of Use

These terms apply to the Kamae app for macOS ("Kamae") and to licenses for it. By installing or using Kamae you agree to them.

1. Free trial

You can use every feature of Kamae free for 14 days from the first launch. After the trial, posture monitoring pauses until you enter a license key. Your data on your Mac is not deleted.

2. Purchase and license

Kamae is sold as a one-time purchase through our reseller, Lemon Squeezy, LLC, who is the merchant of record and handles payment, sales tax and VAT, and receipts.
A license lets one person use Kamae on up to 2 Macs at a time. To move it to another Mac, deactivate it on the old one first.
Your purchase includes every version released within 1 year of the purchase date. You can keep using those versions for as long as you like. Major versions released after that may require a paid upgrade.
You may not share, resell, or publish your license key, or modify, reverse engineer, or redistribute Kamae, except where the law allows it.

3. Refunds

If Kamae is not for you, email us within 14 days of purchase and we will refund you in full — no questions asked. Refunds are processed through Lemon Squeezy. Once refunded, the license key stops working.

4. Not a medical device

Kamae helps you notice how you sit. It is not a medical device and does not diagnose, treat, or prevent any condition. If you have pain or a health concern, please consult a professional.

5. Privacy

How Kamae handles data is described in our Privacy Policy. In short: camera frames are processed on your Mac and never stored or sent.

6. Disclaimer and limitation of liability

Kamae is provided "as is". We work to keep it reliable, but we do not guarantee that it is error-free or that its posture judgments are accurate for every person or setup. To the extent permitted by law, our liability for any damages arising from Kamae is limited to the amount you paid for your license. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, including consumer protection law in your country.

7. Changes

We may update these terms. We will change the date above and announce material changes in the app's release notes.

8. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Japan. Disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Yokohama District Court as the court of first instance, except where consumer protection law in your country provides otherwise.
